Reminder:

CALL FOR ENTRIES

"Bay Area Women Artists"

O'Hanlon Center Gallery, August 2009

· Exhibition Dates: August 4 to August 27, 2009

· Artists' Roundtable Discussion: Tuesday, August 4, 4 to 6 p.m.

· Reception: Tuesday, August 4, 6 to 8 p.m.

· Juror: Donna Seager, Owner, Donna Seager Gallery, San Rafael, CA.

· Entry Fee: $25 for O'Hanlon Center for the Arts Members, $30 for non-Members, for up to three pieces.

Media: Any media with emphasis on exploration, abstraction, and imaginative use of materials and content. Traditional landscapes, figurative work and realism discouraged. Juried-in pieces must be ready to display, with any necessary hanging material in place, and instructions. All works must be labeled with artist's name, telephone, email address, medium, size, and price, if for sale.

By taking part in the show, artists agree to a 30% tax-deductible donation to the Center from all sales.

Eligibility: Open to all artists aged 18 and over.

Dates for exhibition entries: Please hand-deliver (no slides or photos) up to three pieces of work to O'Hanlon Center for the Arts, 616 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley, on Friday, July 31, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. or on Saturday, August 1, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. We will notify you (preferably by email) about whether your work has been accepted by Monday, August 3 at 5 p.m.

Those works not accepted must be picked up by Tuesday, August 4 between noon and 8 p.m., unless alternative arrangements are made. There is a limit of three works per artist. Please include biographical information, artist statements, and your email address if you have one. When you drop off your art, we will give you information about hanging/showing and Gallery policies.

Gallery Requirements:

--Insurance coverage is provided by the Artist.

--Accepted work must remain on view for the duration of the exhibition.

Retrieval of Unsold Artwork: Unsold work must be picked up on Thursday, August 27 between 2 and 4:30 p.m., or on Friday, August 28, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Artists leaving their work after this time will be charged $5/day storage unless prior arrangements have been made.

"Take Two: Refuse Rescued and Recreated"

O'Hanlon Center Gallery, September 2009

· Exhibition Dates: September 1 to September 30, 2009

· Artists' Roundtable Discussion: Tuesday, September 1, 4 to 6 p.m.

· Reception: Tuesday, September 1, 6 to 8 p.m.

· Juror: Mickey McGowan of the Unknown Museum

· Entry Fee: $25 for O'Hanlon Center for the Arts Members, $30 for non-Members, for up to three pieces.

Media: Works of any media with emphasis on creative reuse of discarded objects, exploring ecological or environmental themes, repurposing objects in an artistic way, the politics of trash, etc. Conceptual and installation work welcome. O'Hanlon Art Center for the Arts is located on a hillside with a stream and a variety of viewing levels. Consider creating site-specific installations. Contact the office prior to exhibit opening to discuss proposal. All works must be labeled with artist's name, telephone, email address, medium, size, and price, if for sale.
